Our vision is to provide makers, artisans, and cultural bearers with the means to thrive through their cultural pursuits, beyond just creating their works. We hope this support will allow them more time and peace to create masterpieces, focusing on quality rather than just profit to meet basic needs. We aim to foster an environment where the creative process is seen as an important and sacred activity, enabling them to preserve their culture, identity, and heritage without the pressure of economic demands. Above all, we strive to create a meaningful, two-way exchange that enriches both travelers and the communities they visit, promoting responsible and sustainable travel practices that have a lasting positive impact.
We recommend bringing comfortable clothing suitable for hands-on activities, a hat or sunscreen for outdoor sessions, and a notebook for jotting down insights. If there are any workshops, wear something that you don't mind getting stained. We’ll provide all the necessary materials and tools for the activities.

The source persons in our cultural programs are both cultural experts and practitioners who are considered cultural bearers. They have a deep knowledge of Indonesian traditions and are actively involved in preserving and transmitting these cultural practices. Their firsthand experience and expertise provide participants with authentic insights into the cultural heritage of Indonesia.
Batik is used as a medium because of Agus and Nia’s background and interest from their early stages of artistic practice. Agus comes from a line of batik makers from Solo, and Nia came to Indonesia in the early 80s to continue her study of batik.
