Each member brings their expertise and passion, contributing to the vibrant and enriching experiences we offer.

Agus Ismoyo

Director - Co-Founder

Agus Ismoyo, a descendant from a lineage of batik artisans from Java's court city of Solo, began his odyssey in 1985 when he co-founded Brahma Tirta Sari alongside Nia Fliam.

Nia Fliam

Co-Founder

Nia Fliam journeyed to Indonesia in 1983 to expand her knowledge of batik, sparking a fascination with its intangible aspects that continues to drive her artistic exploration today. Nia's journey ultimately led her to co-found Brahma Tirta Sari alongside Agus Ismoyo. With a background in fine arts from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn New York, Nia integrates a diverse array of influences into her contemporary textile narratives, transcending geographical boundaries.

Desmond W.S. Anabrang

Program Engagement and Coordinator

A cultural and traditional arts activist, is a key figure at the Babaran Segaragunung Culture House in Yogyakarta, contributing significantly to cultural projects. As a new generation of culture bearers in his family, Desmond is dedicated to continuing local knowledge systems.

Agung Harjuno

Co-Founder

Agung Harjuno, graduated from Gajah Mada University with a degree in Archeology. He furthered his academic pursuits by attaining a master’s degree in philosophy from the National Hindu Dharma Institute. Agung wears the hats of a teacher, writer, and cultural activist with grace and dedication.

Pang Warman

Co-Founder

Pang Warman's journey blends diverse experiences. Trained by renowned Indonesian painters S. Sudarso and Haryadi S., he immersed himself in Indonesia's rich cultural scene early on, engaging in theater and literature.

Galuh Anindito

Program Development and Curation

Galuh Anindito is a Jakarta-based Program Manager in culture with six years of experience, dedicated to enriching cultural experiences and fostering community engagement.

Febrianti Tentyana S.

Partnership and Development

Tyana started her career as a business analyst in a marketing consulting firm, involved in multi-sectors projects from government works, especially in the tourism sector. Her main responsibility includes finding applicable solutions for organizationals problems and building marketing strategies.

MJA Nashir

Cultural Documentation Coordinator

MJA Nashir, born in Batang on 8 September 1973, is a cultural and traditional arts activist dedicated to preserving Indonesian heritage. After studying Sociology at Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta...

Our team at Babaran Segargunung (BSG) Culture House connects traditions with contemporary knowledge and artistic pursuits, fostering cultural growth and appreciation. Beyond artistic expression, we are dedicated to supporting the discovery and appreciation of cultural knowledge and the cultural bearers who embody it. These cultural bearers are the living DNA of tradition, carrying essential wisdom that continues to resonate in today's world.
